Ilifa Lethu” which directly translates to “Our Inheritance” in isiXhosa, is a limited-edition body of work by Masonwabe Ntloko in collaboration with Airloom. Named after some of his family members, Ntloko's work is inspired by his love for the rich cultural history of the AmaXhosa. "This work pays homage to abantu bakwa Miya, Oogwanini, Oosbewu. Both my grandmothers on my mother and father’s side were from the Miya clan and both showed me so much love and I've always felt welcomed, loved and welcomed by abantu bakwa Miya even outside my immediate family that I've met throughout my time in this world. " says Ntloko. This rug is one of 30 limited edition pieces. As such, you will also receive an artist signed certificate of authenticity with your rug purchase. The rugs are made in SA, printed on an ultra-fine soft polyester, with built-in non-slip backing.
